Our work helps people discover strengths, find solutions, and make changes so they are more content with own life and relationships. And our work strengthens the social emotional skills of parents, professionals working with people, and corporate coaches and leaders.

We facilitators have

decades of experience between us in life's adventures, walking with people, and in all kinds of venues of training and education - ranging from multinational corporations to church, from universities to state and international schools and alternative education, from international level competitive sports to personal development workshops. Our continuing studying and collaboration with colleagues, EAL – centres, institutions and organizations in USA and Europe guarantees our continuing personal growth and international level professionalism.

Key persons

Managing Director Lauri Lehtiö

M.Sc. (engineering and industrial economics), Certified Supervisor and Coach of Leaders and Executives CSLE® - Examination (80 ECTS credits by SUED Management Oy), EASEL® facilitator trainer. Lauri has 20 years of experience in consulting, development and leadership positions in international corporations like Outokumpu, Nokia, IBM, and as manging director InfoCare Finland. Now offers to clients his extencive experience in leading people and business units through various challenging phases of development. Lauri's special interests include training strategic social emotional skills and coaching-style leadership, and supporting executives, teams and individuals through transition. Lauri also works in Cavesson's experiential social emotional learning programs for families, groups and individuals. He is currently expanding his professional spectrum with a degree in adventure pedagogy.

Lauri is in charge of LeadRope® programs and coaching of leaders and executives.

Program Director Mari Louhi-Lehtiö

M.Sc., licensed teacher (K7-adults), certified supervisor and coach of groups and individuals (60 ECTS credits), EASEL® facilitator trainer, Epona Approved Instructor and EAGALA1. She is currently in solution-focused familytherapy/psychotherapy training (90 ECTS). Mari's career started in biosciences and research, and continued specialising in alternative education, experiential social emotional learning, and social neurosciences. She has 20 years of experience in various fields of education, coaching, training and counseling. Her interests and experience bring to Cavesson's programs their highly effective combination of evidence-based methods and tools, social neurobiology, experiential social emotional learning, and solution-focused coaching and therapy .

Mari is in charge of special workshops and coaching & continuing education programs for professionals.

Family Program Specialist Virpi Liirus-Mäkelä

Nurse, specialised in mental health of children and youth, supervisor (60 ECTS credits, solution-focused), EASEL® facilitator trainer, and has had a long career working as a diaconess. She is specializing in personal strength and solution focused counseling. Virpi has also studied applied drama tools for social work. Virpi has 20 years of experience in helping individuals and groups of all ages discover ways to resolve personal conflict, be it spiritual or social in nature, and overcome limiting patterns of thought and behaviour.

Virpi is in charge of MysterySchool® programs and supervision.

European Program Coordinator Florentine van Thiel

Secretary, EASEL® co-trainer and coach. Florentine has extencive experience in running the front desk - from own jazz club in Brussels to secretarial work at EU. Florentine is also an artist since more than 30 years and has had exhibitions in Belgium as well as abroad. She is trained level I and II in EFLC (Equine Facilitated Learning and Coaching) and has a long term horsemanship training with FFE's official recognition.

Flo is in charge of coordinating Cavesson's programs and services for Continental Europe at our facility and at Haras de Baudemont (www.baudemont.be) in Ittre, Belgium.

Adventure specialist Rauno Welling

Rauno is a youth leader with an extencive and broad work experience. He is certified Adventure educator, Rescue Officer training by The Rescue Department of Helsinki, certified group facilitator of Depression School, and Arts & Crafts Instructor. Rauno has worked as a facilitator / leader e.g. in a youth center in Helsinki, in several hospitals, for Finnish Mentalhealth Association, The Service Foundation for the Deaf, and Hill Street Establishment which offered residential support for youth. He enjoys climbing, kayaking and ball games, and SEL-dog Roope.

Rauno is in charge of adventure activities at Savikko farm and belongs to the facilitator team of HeroicJourney - programs for at risk kids and teens.

Supervisor Jyrki Nikanne

Savikko Team's psychology supervisor , Jyrki Nikanne holds Masters degree in clinical psycholoy specialising in psychiatry. He has an additional training in family counseling and supervision. Jyrki is also certified Riding Therapist-SRT and NLP Practitioner, and certified EASEL® - faciliator. For over eleven years Jyrki worked at a psychiatric hospital that has on-site therapeutic riding program. He is also former Chair of the Finnish Therapeutic Riding Association. In 2008 Jyrki took a sabathic leave to work in Team Savikko and deepened his professional experience and passion for equine assisted counseling. He has now returned to a psychiatric children's clinic and remains Team Savikko's supervisor and consulting psychologist.
