Everything Towards True Communication
'You ride with your mind' simply means that once you get your mind, soul and center of gravity in line with the horse's center of gravity, his heart, the channel is open and magic happens. It requires from the rider knowledge of the invisible part of natural horsemanship and emotional agility skills. To achieve those is not as easy as it is to learn technical riding. It starts with the will to learn, a deeper intuitive knowledge that 'there has to be more, this doesn't feel right'. It starts with waking up to ethical questions like what are we doing to horses in the name of sport.
Changeing horse or sending him to be trained by someone else makes no difference. Almost all riding accidents could be avoided if riders and instructors were taught better to understand this kind of message sending and how it affects their performance. These skills are prerequisites for successful riding, competition performance and teaching riders and training horses, yet they are not normally taught. When they are, riders invariably ask why no one has taught them such things before. Learning starts by consciously walking through the door to a wider view, deeper understanding of interspecies communication. And your heart is changed for ever.
This workshop aims at helping equestrians put their intuition and nonverbal communication skills more actively and consciously to use.
Most riders have experienced moments when they have e.g. anticipated the horse’s next move, read his intention correctly. Or the horse has executed an intended move before the rider has asked because the pair has been so in tune. However, riders are rarely taught how to produce that at will. We teach.
