Introduction to HorseTalk™ - pedagogy
One to three-day-workshops for riding instructors, PR – personnel and stable managers of commercial equestrian centres.
First Day - The principles
- Principles of Ethical Horsemanship.
- Pedagogic principles behind HorseTalk™.
- Steps to assess and meet the psychological and social needs of horses.
- Basics of nonverbal communication
Second Day - Teaching the horse
- What is needed before a horse can physically and emotionally safely work with EAL-clients or riding students and is able to teach the right things.
- Understanding and establishing trust and communication.
- Ground exercises with a loose horse – assessing, developing and preserving mental balance. Tackling dissociation. Calming activities.
- HorseTalk™ Ground ABC and Ridden ABC - the basis of all riding regardless of the discipline you plan to teach.
Third Day - Teaching the rider
- The first 10 HorseTalk™- program lessons that help you teach riding correctly so that communication, trust and regaining the horse’s natural beauty become possible.
- Understandable aids – correct, balanced sitting position and how to teach the weight aids right from the beginning.
- Being an interpreter between the horse and the rider until they can communicate.
- Being a PE teacher for both - physical facts of a centaur.
